"Derek has lost a long-time customer, and the commission that goes along with that, because of the actions of his horrid employee WENDY.... My mom was late paying this month's bill (for the 1st time ever) and Derek called and left a friendly message about it and said to call him about it. We proceeded to call him, & WENDY answered. We asked to speak with Derek, since he is the person who called and he is my mom's agent and his name is on the bill, and WENDY proceeded to say that they were all licensed & that she could help us. I told her again that we wanted to speak to Derek. At that point, instead of saying "Please hold for Derek" or "He's not available right now, but I'll leave him a message to call you", LIKE A NORMAL PERSON WOULD DO, she instead, again, stated that they were all licensed & that she could help me. I repeated for the THIRD TIME that we wanted to speak to Derek. And again, instead of putting us in hold or taking a message, she said she could assist me. At that point I was getting annoyed and informed WENDY that I didn't like having to repeat myself this way and stated for the 4th time that we were calling to specifically speak to Derek. She again wouldn't do what a normal person would do and insisted that I can speak to her. I then became angry and began getting loud. Needless to say that this all spiraled to the point where WENDY started enjoying herself and laughing and goading me into getting louder and louder to the point that I began swearing so, again, instead of putting me on hold or taking a message, she began repeatedly hanging up on me. I informed WENDY that we were going to change agencies and file a complaint and WENDY said to go ahead and do that. So, I hung up (after having to keep calling back because WENDY kept hanging up on me) and proceeded to contact State Farm in order to pay the bill, change agencies, and file a complaint. While doing this, Derek called. I told him what happened with his horrid (I actually used the "C" word) employee WENDY and that what transpired was absolutely unacceptable and that we were changing agencies. He said he didn't want to lose my mother as a customer, but he also didn't act like he cared either. He then kept saying well what can I do for you and I kept having to tell him that I was on the phone in the other room in the process of changing agencies because of his employee's unacceptable behavior and treatment of a paying client. I do not recommend this agency at all. I wish the calls were recorded but Derek said they are not. Do not use this State Farm agency. Use another one. People should not have to be treated this way by WENDY or any other person there, or any business at all. I hope WENDY is happy with herself."

Our goal is always to provide respectful and helpful service to every customer who reaches out to us. That said, we also expect the same level of respect in return. We do not tolerate or appreciate the use of profanity or name-calling toward our team members, especially when they are doing their best to assist. While I understand emotions can run high in stressful moments, my team—including Wendy—works hard to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
